About Us

Firewood Digital is an independent game development studio based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our team is small but ambitious, brimming with ideas and driven by a passion for creating engaging stories, inventive mechanics and memorable worlds.

Our mission is simple – to make games that are fun, distinctive and push the boundaries of what indie games can be. Founded in 2024, the studio began as a collaboration between friends tinkering with concepts and surviving on far too many energy drinks. That side project grew into our debut title Moonlight – a 2D open-world survival crafting game built from a shared love of storytelling and survival systems.

Marley Henderson

Studio head

During COVID - Marley began his passion project called Moonlight. This eventually lead him to create Firewood Digital where he is the studio head. He looks after the team, and ensure they have anything they need

Aaron Stead

Game Developer

Despite Aaron having loads of experience with game development - he wanted to join a real studio to get hands-on experience. He has joined us at Firewood Digital as our technical director and game developer

Becka Spruce

Creative director

Becka is a WriteNow Author under a Penguin House mentorship. They have had a very accomplished career so far and have joined us at Firewood Digital as our creative director.

Ashley Newell

Sound / Music Designer

Currently studying at NYU for Game Design - Ashley is a very talented music and sound designer and has joined Firewood Digital under that role!
